Remodel Update

Quite a bit has changed since our last update!  We had a little delay receiving the cabinets, but Patricia worked like a crazy woman (can you call your mother-in-law crazy in a nice way? I hope so, because I just did!) and got all of the cabinets stained and varnished, along with all of the trim around the windows.  Quite a feat for one week!  Once the cabinets were finished the sinks and countertops were installed and Mike will arrive next week to complete plumbing.   The bar top will be completed and installed in the next few weeks too.  It’s been in the upper 80’s and 90’s, making the Dutch Oven Diner feel like an oven, but with the progress made in the last week, the Diner is now closed!  There are still quite a few cosmetic projects to be completed, but thankfully we are almost there!  The porch will be screened in this week and cedar stays will be put up around the outside to tie it in with the Bunkhouse and Casita.  Patricia has decided to hold off on painting and fully decorating until she’s had a chance to live in it a while.  And after the hundreds of decisions she’s made in the past few months, she just does not want to have to make one more decision!
