If you’ve been following along you’ll probably remember our January post, where we shared the news of Ruben and Haley’s engagement with you.  On Saturday they will officially be MARRIED!  We are all SO excited!  And of course, we will post lots of pictures!  If you’ve already done the math a 4 month engagement isn’t very long, but with a lot of help, it’s been just long enough to plan a beautiful wedding, and short  enough to avoid the wedding crazies and horror stories you hear about! So, if you were to ask what we’ve been up to we would say “Getting ready for a wedding!” Because of this we blocked off some of our previous weeks and haven’t taken as many guests so we could focus on Ruben and Haley’s big day without cheating the guests either.

Men, this paragraph will include some frilly details, so if you’d like to just skip ahead to the next paragraph we understand.  However, if you keep reading you’ll get extra credit!  With any “DIY” wedding it takes a lot of work, but it also allows for great memories!  On Easter weekend all of Ruben’s family came out the ranch and while the men roped, the women baked Biscochitos…about 700 Biscochitos!  What are Biscochitos?  They are a traditional New Mexican wedding cookie, and we baked enough for there to be plenty for the guests to snack on between the ceremony and reception.  Here is a Biscochito Recipe incase you’d like to whip up some for yourself.  Also instead of a traditional wedding cake, they will be having a Cookie Bar with all different kinds of homemade cookies, baked with love by friends and family.  The centerpieces for the reception will be a mixed array of glassware and vases filled with floating candles, and these were borrowed from everyone’s kitchen!  Patricia spent several hours labeling and packing up the glassware for transport and said she wrapped almost 800 pieces!  That’s a lot of glassware and it’s going to make for a beautiful setting.   The flowers will also be DIY and arranged tomorrow by the bridemaids.  Becca had a lot of fun helping Haley select flowers, and they were overnighted yesterday to Tye and Becca’s.  You can only imagine how incredible their house smells right now with all of those fresh flowers!  There are a ton of details, but we’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.  One thing is for certain; Haley is going to be one of the prettiest brides in history!

Did you skip ahead?  This is pretty much the end of this blog post, so you might want to go back and read the previous paragraph after all!
